Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy is one of the famous conservancies in Africa, Famous for having the last Northern white rhinos in the world. Ol Pejeta is located near Nanyuki, between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Range, with a size area of approximately 360 square kilometers. Its missions are conservation, community development, and sustainable tourism.

 

Wildlife and Conservation.

Ol Pejeta is the Big Five wildlife (Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffalos, and Rhinos), but Leopards are rare to spot.

Rhino Sanctuary: Hosts the largest population of black rhinos in East Africa and the last 2 remaining Northern white rhinos in the world.

Chimpanzee Sanctuary: a refuge for rescued chimps (Sweetwater Chimpanzee Sanctuary).

Endangered Species: Also protects Grevy’s Zebra, Jackson’s hartebeest, and more.

  • Located 4 hours ‘ drive from Nairobi, or can take a short flight.
  • How to get there: by Air (Short flight), or by road (4-hour drive) with daily departures.
  • Best time to visit: January – March and July – October Season, ideal for wildlife viewing.
